The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security received an official delegation from the Republic of Armenia on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, at the Authority’s headquarters in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, with the aim of strengthening joint cooperation, exchanging expertise, and gaining first-hand insight into the UAE’s systems, particularly in the field of smart gates.
The delegation was received by H.E. Juma Abdullah Al Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of the Digital Transformation Sector, in the presence of H.E. Nasser Ahmed Al Abdouli, Acting Executive Director of the Institutional Support Sector, along with a number of Authority officials. The Armenian delegation was headed by Ms. Nelli Davtyan, Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, accompanied by a number of specialists.
The visit included specialized presentations in which the Authority showcased its operational mechanisms and innovative systems related to smart gates. The Armenian delegation also conducted a field visit to Zayed International Airport, accompanied by H.E. Juma Abdullah Al Kaabi and H.E. Dr. Hamad Saif Al Mashghoni, Acting Executive Director of the Air Ports Affairs Sector, where they were briefed on best practices and the integration of smart systems applied in smart gate operations.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Armenian delegation expressed its appreciation for the warm reception and excellent organization, commending the level of advancement achieved by the United Arab Emirates. Members of the delegation affirmed that the visit represents an important step in supporting the Republic of Armenia’s efforts to develop its systems and operational mechanisms by leveraging leading Emirati expertise in areas of mutual interest.
